BioVenezia is a participatory and community-driven project born in 2016 to promote organic farming and sustainable development in the mainland area of the Metropolitan City of Venice. Rooted in a collaborative process started in 2015, the Biodistrict brings together a wide network of stakeholders: organic farmers, educational and social farms, artisanal processors, municipalities, associations, tourism operators, research bodies, and consumers.
The mission of BioVenezia is to create a resilient and eco-sustainable agricultural model that integrates environmental protection, health, and local culture. With 19 founding members—including the Wine Route Association, Consorzio Vini Venezia, the Reclamation Consortium, and AIAB—the district operates through democratic governance and collective planning.
BioVenezia stands as a benchmark for territories wishing to adopt an integrated approach to organic agriculture, environmental stewardship, and community well-being.
